About Kibbutz Yagur

Kibbutz Yagur’s Hebrew Ulpan is an excellent place to live, study, work, and experience Israel. Nestled amidst the beautiful Carmel Mountain range, we are conveniently located just fifteen minutes outside of Haifa, with easy access to its many cafes, nightclubs, and cultural activities. We are also nearby to Tsvat, Tiberias, the Sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights, and only one and a half hours from Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem.

Surrounded by a green and hilly landscape covered with pine and oak trees, The kibbutz has a calm and pleasant natural environment. The weather is mild and friendly most of the year. The summer can get hot and humid, the winter colder and sometimes rainy.

Yagur is Israel’s second largest Kibbutz, and one of it’s oldest. Yagur was established in 1922, and unlike many other kibbutzim, it is still very much a “classic” kibbutz run by an equal partnership of it its members. The kibbutz has a population of 1500, among them many native speakers of English, Russian, French, Spanish, and other languages.

Due to its close proximity to Haifa there is always frequent and punctual public transportation to the city, its commercial and cultural centers, and its various universities and colleges.
